I've heard it's the perfect weapon for those bear encounters I've been having since trout fishing last year.
Field stripping is a bit difficult with short release slides - loading the magazine by hand is difficult.
I have since installed a retro-fitted release 'bar', which makes it very easy to clean after a day of shooting.
I also bought a plastic cap for the place in the handle next to where the mag goes in. I've heard that dirt can get into the combustion mechanism from there - but IDK for sure yet.

I have an old G19 from the early 1990's, still a great gun. When I first bought it I always carried it or my RUGER 1911 45ACP.
I have 4 carry guns that are small, but I like more power! BOSS, I.E. WIFE likes small guns anyway. I never want to make him mad enough to fire me; He is much better than me! His father took him to NRA tournaments in the late 50's and early 60's, and he always beat the boys and won a bunch of prizes! It had to hurt!
I was torn between the 10mm vs the .45 ACP. However, after reviewing many ballistics and performance studies, there was no doubt... The G20 won in all areas: muzzle and target speed and power, flight speed, etc. basically for personal protection but if that black bear shows up in my back yard again he might get some lead shampoo!

I've been itching to get one of these for a while now. Never consider Glocks because of the plastic and lack of hand safety. However, one of the .45acp fell into my lap and has greatly increased my quality, ergos, simplicity and weight. So this is my first 10mm, based on my previous experience with the Glock... 15 rounds of 10mm will be good for anything I'm going to encounter in the Southern Rockies shall I say "home". .
I am on my 2nd Glock 10mm and love it. It takes a step back but nothing is "out of control". I'm not a big guy but just out of the box and look a little to my taste (no add-ons, just stock) and hit the mark every time. Excellent Weapon!!!

It was my first gun, and like your first love, it's always your favorite. In Houston, it's shorts and t-shirt season nine months of the year and most of the time I carry its little brother, the Glock 29. But when it's cold and I wear a jacket , I still pack the G20. With 16 rounds of point blank, I think I can handle anything that might come up. If releasing Sasquatch is a poor decision, the G20 will regret it even more. He likes this gun.

My Glock 20 is my home defense weapon, not intended to harm but a weapon that protects me from wildlife and other intruders.
I am looking for a handgun more powerful than my 9 MM and .45 ACP. Lots of recommendations for the 10MM so I used one of my Blue Label certificates and bought a Gen 4 G20.
This weapon is the complete package. It is powerful yet manageable. It has great power and I would use it with confidence for home defense or big game (ie bear). This is my 5th Gluck and I love every one of them.
It will be interesting to see what the Gen 5 G20 adds to the mix if Glock ever produces one (of course it will be a new model number). I have had this weapon with me for about 4 years as my concealed carry, extra grip. Magazine extension and a few other mods to streamline draw and lock times. I shoot 100 to 200 rounds at a time on constant bias, have shot 155gr, 165gr. and 180 grams of ammo all fired easily and accurately with decent recoil and no performance issues. I love this model for its power and size, I highly recommend it to someone who wants a concealed carry with more than a 9mm punch but is smaller than a full size 45. A place to rent that interests you and shoot it to make sure it's right for you.

I bought a G29 and found it to be extremely accurate with many groups between 1" and 1.5" at 15 yards. Oddly enough I bought a slightly longer match barrel but the group size is only slightly smaller. Overall I am very happy with the handling and power provided by the Glock 29 and the best part is the barrel and magazine.
